With casinos reopening statewide on June 4, gaming revenue showed signs of rebound for the month, including those establishments around Carson City, which were among the state’s best climbers, according to figures released Wednesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in the Carson City area, which includes Gardnerville, Minden and other areas of Douglas County except for south shore Lake Tahoe, showed a 1.73 percent “gaming win” decrease over June 2019 figures. Gaming revenue in June was $9,234,538 as compared to 2019, where gaming revenue was $9,397,270.

Overall, statewide gaming revenue was down 45.55 percent over the same time in June 2019. Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $566,806,791 for the month of June 2020. During the same time last year, statewide casino license holders reported a total “gaming win” of $1,040,978,076.

Casinos in Mesquite and certain pockets of Washoe County were the only ones showing an increase in “gaming win” for the month, figures show.
