On Tuesday, deputies arrested a 43-year-old Carson City man at his home in the 2900 block of E. Nye Lane for a second domestic violence misdemeanor after allegedly punching his girlfriend multiple times and following her with a metal bar.

Deputies were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of E. Nye Lane Tuesday afternoon on a welfare check. The caller advised that an employee at the business “looked like she had been beaten.”

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim and observed she had purple bruising around her right eye.

During the course of the interview, deputies were told that at around noon, she got into an argument with her boyfriend who was “highly intoxicated from alcohol” according to the report. She said that he put his hands on her shoulders and pinned her to the corner of the room in the kitchen, and hit her with a closed fist multiple times.

She said the boyfriend asked her if she “knew the difference between dying and murder.” She said she was able to push him off and ran outside. She said that the boyfriend followed her outside with a metal bar, and she left the area. She told deputies she was in the process of filing for a Temporary Protection Order.

Deputies attempted to locate the boyfriend at his residence but were unable to find him.

On Wednesday at around 4:30 p.m., deputies went back to the residence and observed the boyfriend’s white Chevy Silverado parked outside the residence. Inside of the vehicle was the boyfriend, who was intoxicated from alcohol.

He confirmed the victim was his “on and off again girlfriend,” but refused to provide any additional information.

The boyfriend was taken into custody. Due to a high level of intoxication, he was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked at the Carson City Jail.

Dispatch advised he had previously been convicted of domestic battery in 2018. Deputies updated his charge to  Domestic Battery second, and he was released to jail custody without incident.

Carson City man arrested for trespassing at Walmart due to ‘unruly’ behavior

A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of 3200 Market Street after being dispatched for an intoxicated subject.

Dispatch advised the man was “highly intoxicated” and near the pharmacy entry. He had been seen drinking on the property, but was refusing to leave.

Deputies met with an employee who said that they could not have an individual who was intoxicated on the property, and wanted him trespassed.

The reporting deputy stated they recognized the man from an earlier call that day in which he’d been asked to leave the area due to his “unruly behavior.”

The man refused to submit to a PBT and removed himself from the store.

When the man was told he was being taken into custody for trespassing, he “then refused to stand or walk under his own power,” and had to be carried to the patrol vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance, and the reporting deputy noted that he “continued to be highly belligerent and refused lawful commands.” He “eventually” submitted to a PBT, which provided a preliminary BAC of .327.

He was booked without further incident.

The reporting deputy wrote that the man’s story “did not make sense,” especially as he had been heading westbound on College Parkway until seeing the deputy, at which point he allegedly turned around and started eastbound.

Deputies asked if they could search his person, and he agreed. They located a “cigarette box” inside his jacket pocket, inside of which was a “meth pipe” and a small clear baggie with approximately 1 gram of “suspected meth” according to the report.
