Two locally owned Northern Nevada businesses are working together to make purchasing and installing a quality bear resistant trash enclosure easier for property owners throughout bear country.

Carson Welding Inc., the Carson City manufacturer behind the No Bear Can, has partnered with Trash Dash LLC to provide professional delivery and installation of its residential and commercial bear boxes.

No Bear Can has been manufactured locally and used throughout the Lake Tahoe area for more than 20 years. The enclosures are made from 14 gauge galvanized steel with fully welded construction, a powder coated finish and a durable bear resistant latch. Carson Welding offers several sizes for residences, vacation rentals, apartment communities and commercial properties.

The No Bear Can was tested at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana. Carson Welding has also earned certifications from the Living with Wildlife Foundation, the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. The product is listed as an approved bear box option by South Tahoe Refuse and other local organizations.

While many property products are now mass produced and shipped from outside the region, every No Bear Can supports a Carson City manufacturer and the local workers who fabricate each enclosure.

Through the new partnership, Carson Welding will continue to manufacture and sell the No Bear Can, while Trash Dash handles installation consultations, scheduling, delivery and professional installation. Trash Dash serves Carson City, Reno, Sparks, Genoa, Lake Tahoe, Truckee and surrounding communities where secure wildlife resistant trash storage is needed.

The goal is to give customers a simple, coordinated process from purchase through installation while keeping more of the work within the local community.
