The Storey County Sheriff’s Office said they are on scene of a wildland fire in Gold Hill as of 12:20 p.m. Friday.

They’ve asked residents and visitors to watch for emergency crews and avoid the area.

No structures are reported to be threatened at this time.

Just a few weeks ago, another fire on July 3 reportedly burned over 20 acres in Gold Hill, (which was later reduced to 4 acres) prompting evacuations of residents and a closure of State Route 342.
