More than 60 volunteers came together Saturday to put the final touches on the now completed C-Hill Flag along the iconic Carson City hillside amid near-perfect weather conditions.

Teams from the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation, Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space staff, the Desert Pigs, NJROTC, House to Home, the Elks Club and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce joined C-Hill Foundation Board of Directors Lucia Maloney, Katy Lara, Bonifacio Lara and Lauren Stevens for the heavy lifting and placement of the final tiles.

Lunch for the hungry volunteers was made possible thanks to the Elks Club.

Earlier this month, the C-Hill Flag restoration efforts got a huge boost when a helicopter team hoisted panels to the hillside and volunteers spent the day putting the tiles into place.

There will be an official C-Hill Flag dedication ceremony June 14, which is also Flag Day. The time of the event will be announced soon.

The restoration has been carried out by volunteers on behalf of the Carson City C-Hill Flag Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the famed American flag on the face of C-Hill in Carson City.

On October 4, 2025 more than 80 volunteers ascended C-Hill on foot and by vehicle to temporarily deconstruct the C-Hill Flag and begin its restoration. In April of this year, the foundation announced that it successfully hit its fundraising goal of more than $38,000 for the effort. Go here for the list of project partners and sponsors.
