Carson City Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (CCSSAR) conducted their regular high angle ropes rescue training this last weekend below C Hill in southwest Carson City.
CCSSAR does routine training in all areas of Carson City to gain experience in different terrains. The Carson area requires training in multitude areas including hills, canyons, mountainous and forested areas.

This weekend’s training focused on rescuing a simulated injured biker. Most recent training was in Ash Canyon. CCSSAR trains monthly on various rescue exercises including urban and wilderness searches, steep angle ropes, and swift-water rescues.
CCSSAR is a volunteer organization under the Carson City Sheriff’s Department. It is a licensed non-profit 501(c)(3). Any interest in donating or volunteering, please visit our website here.
