Tyler Silsby.

Tyler Silsby’s journey to success at Carson High School is a story of hard work, determination and finding his place. He began his education at St. Theresa School, where he spent kindergarten through eighth grade in a small, close-knit environment with only a handful of classmates. Transitioning to Carson High School as a freshman meant stepping into a campus of more than 2,200 students, a big change by any measure, but Tyler embraced the challenge.

From the start, Tyler pushed himself academically, enrolling in honors and AP courses throughout high school. His hard work and dedication have paid off, earning him an impressive 4.97 weighted GPA. In addition, he completed a CTE pathway in Civil Engineering, further demonstrating his commitment to building practical skills for his future.

Outside the classroom, Tyler found his stride in athletics. He has been a dedicated member of both the football and golf teams for all four years of high school. As the quarterback on the football field, Tyler led with focus and determination, and on the golf course, he has served as a team captain. His leadership and character have not gone unnoticed. Coach Walt describes him as “not only a great leader and student, but a great athlete.”

Tyler is also committed to giving back to his community. He is an active volunteer at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School and Church, where he has assisted with a variety of projects over the past four years. His involvement began during his time as a student there and has continued throughout high school, reflecting his strong sense of service and connection to his roots.

When he’s not in school or at practice, Tyler enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing. His passion has even led him to work with the Nevada Fish Report, turning a hobby into a meaningful experience.

After graduation, Tyler plans to attend college and pursue a career as an electrical lineman. With his strong work ethic, leadership skills and willingness to take on challenges, there’s no doubt he has a bright future ahead.

Carson High School is proud to recognize Tyler Silsby as a standout senior who has made the most of every opportunity and leaves a lasting impact on his school community.
