Carson City Fire Department was called Sunday afternoon to the 1600 block of Valley View Drive in South Carson City for a small brush fire.
The call came into dispatch at around 1:14 p.m. of a brush fire in a yard adjacent to a residence. The reporting party told dispatch they were attempting to contain the fire with a garden hose.
The fire department battalion chief on scene reports the brush fire was a 10 foot by 15 foot spot fire, burning away from the residence at a slow rate of speed. The fire was knocked down at around 1:20 p.m.
The cause is under investigation.
