By Nicki Hendee, Carson High School Counselor
This week, the Senior Spotlight is shared by Carson High School twins Hanna and Lindsay Kreizenbeck.
The Kreizenbecks are each incredible in their own ways, but they also share some similarities. With a 4.82 and 4.75 GPA, respectively, Hanna and Lindsay both sit within the top 20 of the graduating class at Carson High School.
Obviously committed to their studies, they have both found passions outside of the classroom, at Carson High School and within the community as a whole.
As students, both Hanna and Lindsay have challenged themselves throughout high school by taking several Advanced Placement courses. Both are on track to earn their AP Capstone Diploma this year, as well as their Seals of Biliteracy this year.
These are honors earned by fewer than 25 students at Carson High School each year.
Hanna and Lindsay have joined some extra-curricular activities together and some they have participated in on their own. Together, they have developed their business acumen and leadership skills through Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
As Vice President and Competitive Events Manager for FBLA, Lindsay has made significant contributions to the organization, earning Outstanding Sophomore and Junior of the Year awards along the way.
She’s also made her mark in FBLA State Competitions, placing 5th in both Sales and Social Media Strategies—impressive accomplishments that show her readiness for a future in business. Hanna has served as co-president, vice president and secretary of FBLA.
Her dedication to FBLA has led her to qualify for the national competition for three consecutive years, competing twice at this highly competitive level.
In addition to FBLA, Hanna has competed as a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), where she earned a silver medal at the state level. Lindsay is the director of the Drama Club, where her positivity has made a big difference to the group’s success.
In the fall, both Hanna and Lindsay plan to attend college in Oregon. Hanna plans to attend the University of Oregon, where she will study child psychology.
Lindsay plans to study nursing at Linfield University. Although they won’t be at the same school, the drive isn’t too far for a weekend visit.
All students named as a weekly Senior Spotlight are featured at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Carson City. The Rotary Club of Carson City is a vibrant and dedicated group of professionals and community leaders committed to making a positive impact.
The club welcomes individuals who are passionate about service and enjoy opportunities for personal and professional growth, networking and fellowship.
