According to the booking report, At around 6:39 p.m. a deputy going northbound on North Carson observed a white Saturn sedan going past the posted speed of 25 mph. The vehicle also didn’t have a front plate attached to the vehicle.

The deputy made a U-turn to investigate. The vehicle increased its speed and quickly entered the parking lot of 1700 North Carson. The vehicle entered the lot and quickly proceeded northbound through the lot and didn’t slow or attempt to enter a parking stall. The deputy turned on their lights and siren. The vehicle exited the parking lot and drove northbound toward the intersection of Carson and Winnie. The deputy advised dispatch they were making an enforcement stop. Dispatch advised the registration was suspended.

The deputy accelerated and pulled closer to the vehicle and reactivated the siren at the intersection of Carson and Winnie. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection and made an aggressive lane change from the number one lane to the number two lane. At this time, the deputy determined the vehicle was not yielding. This led to an approximately 10 minute, 10.35 mile pursuit.

The pursuit continued to Hot Springs, approximately 35 mph in light traffic. As the pursuit approached the intersection of North Roop, speeds were approximately 20 mph and traffic was light. The suspect vehicle continued northbound on North Roop and made a U-turn at the intersection of College and Roop.

The vehicle stopped in front of the front entrance of Walmart. All three of the suspects fled from the vehicle. The deputy gave all three commands to stop. They did not comply. The driver, later identified as Arthur Davis, entered the store with one suspect right behind him. The other suspect initially stopped and began walking westbound, the report states.

The deputy gave Davis and the second suspect commands to stop at gunpoint. They did not comply. The deputy gave commands at gunpoint because there were multiple suspects entering an establishment with multiple patrols; that they fled from a vehicle after feloniously eluding and that Davis ran around two corners, where the deputy was unable to see around initially, the report states.

Additional deputies entered. A deputy used their foot on one of the suspects running to prevent him from fleeing further into an occupied business. The suspect appeared to stumble and kept running, the report states.

Deputies continued to pursue Davis, the driver of the vehicle. Davis began to throw produce items at the deputy as they ran through the northwest portion of the store. The deputy continued to give him commands to stop. He did not comply. The deputy attempted to gain the man’s compliance by utilizing subterfuge, the report states. The deputy told him if he did not stop he would be tasered. Suspect Davis was noncompliant.

Deputies caught up to the man in aisle and a deputy extended both of their arms out and wrapped them around Davis’ mid-section. The deputy used their momentum to tackle Davis to the ground, both landing on the ground. At this time the deputy gained compliance of Davis, who said he was not going to fight and extended his arms to the side. He was detained, the report states.

The report notes that suspect Davis and the officer slid approximately 1 to 2 feet across the floor. Davis advised he hit his knee, toes and nose on the floor during detention. He had a minor laceration on his forehead and nose. No strikes, impact weapons or other types of force was used during the detention, the report states.

Davis was seated in the back of the patrol vehicle. Carson City Fire Department responded to the scene, with the suspect requesting to be taken to the hospital. Davis was medically cleared, the report states. The doctor who cleared Davis advised he had a minor fracture on the end of his nose. He advised Davis this would heal on its own and no further treatment was necessary.

While Davis was in the patrol vehicle, he was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. He advised there was a pipe. While out front with Davis, another deputy advised he had recovered a firearm inside Walmart. The firearm was recovered along the path of one of the suspects. It was later determined the firearm was a Glock Model 19, 9mm pistol, the report states.

When the deputy recovered the firearm there was a 15 round magazine loaded with live 9mm ammunition inserted into the magazine well of the firearm. When the arresting deputy took custody of the firearm, they locked the slide of the firearm to the rear and ejected a live round of 9mm ammunition from the chamber of the firearm, the report states.

A deputy observed a large open bottle of alcohol inside of the suspect vehicle. A probable cause search and vehicle inventory were conducted. Inside the center console deputies located a methamphetamine pipe with white and brown residue. Also located in the center console was a small spoon, a small piece of brown tar like substance (suspected heroin). The items were weighed and had a net field weight of 5.9 grams. Also located inside the vehicle was a syringe loaded with a brown liquid, suspected to be heroin. Also located were three large pry bars and 6 gloves, along with multiple medical style masks. Also located was a casino players club card.

The report notes that Davis advised he is currently unemployed. Deputies know from training and experience that subjects involved in burglary will frequently carry various sized pry bars to force open doors, windows and break locks. Subjects involved in burglaries and other types of theft that happen with frequency carry gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints, the report states.

The search incident to arrest Davis yielded one clear pinch-seal bag containing suspected methamphetamine with a net weight of 2.4 grams. it also yielded a clear-pinch seal bag with suspected heroin, a net weight of 2.7 grams. These suspected drugs were located concealed in the right sock of Davis.

While being seen at the hospital Davis was advised of his Miranda rights and asked if he understood those rights and he said yes. Davis advised uses methamphetamine and heroin.

An area check for the outstanding suspects continued. A records check of the firearm showed it was reported stolen out of the Reno Police Department. CCSO dispatch confirmed the firearm was stolen in a vehicle burglary in Reno on March 1, 2025. The drugs, paraphernalia suspected burglary tools, players card, firearm, magazines and ammunition were booked as evidence.
