On February 10, 2025, Patrol Deputies responded to the 1200 block of N Curry St for a report of a domestic disturbance. Patrol Deputies gathered information from the victim and learned she identified the suspect as her ex-boyfriend as Matthew Alexander Mann.
The victim told Deputies that she had an active protection order against Matthew.
Video footage from the area showed Matthew approaching the victim near her vehicle and opened her driver side car door.
Matthew physically moved the victim to the area between the car door and driver seat. Matthew prevented the victim from freely moving on her own will. Matthew grabbed the victim’s purse to steal it, but he was not successful.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Matthew for the charges of attempted robbery, false imprisonment, violation of a temporary protection order, and domestic battery.
Detectives received information that Matthew contacted the victim via telephone on February 13, 2025, and threatened to shoot her since she talked to law enforcement.
Matthew also asked the victim if she was going to testify against him in court.
On February 14, 2025, Detectives located Matthew at a residence in Reno, Nevada where he was ultimately taken into custody.
Matthew is in custody at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Jail on the following charges:
- -Attempted Robbery (warrant)
- -False Imprisonment (warrant)
- -Domestic Battery (warrant)
- -Violating a domestic violence temporary protection order (warrant)
Matthew’s bail is set at $100,000 bondable.
