Exploring a career in health care could be the first step toward a fulfilling future. Discover the possibilities that Western Nevada College offers at its upcoming Nursing and Allied Health Open House.

Scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Cedar Building on WNC’s Carson City campus, the Open House will provide attendees with opportunities to meet faculty, learn about academic programs and explore career pathways in the growing health care field.

Visitors can learn more about WNC’s two-year Registered Nursing (RN) program, as well as training opportunities to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Laboratory Technician and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

The event is designed for anyone interested in pursuing a health care career, whether they have already identified their professional goals or are just beginning to explore their options.

“Health care professionals make an extraordinary difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout our communities,” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “At Western Nevada College, we’re committed to providing students with accessible, high-quality educational opportunities that prepare them for meaningful careers. Our Nursing and Allied Health programs help open doors to professions where students can build rewarding futures while making a lasting impact close to home.”

Nursing and Allied Health Director Dr. Audrey Auer said the Open House is an excellent chance for prospective students to learn firsthand about the programs and the people who help students succeed.

“We want people to see the many opportunities available to them in health care and understand that they don’t have to travel far to begin preparing for these important careers,” Dr. Auer said. “Whether someone is interested in becoming a registered nurse, EMT, CNA or laboratory technician, we’re excited to introduce them to our programs, answer their questions and help them envision what’s possible.”

The Open House is free and open to the public. No prior experience in health care is necessary. WNC’s Cedar Building is located at 2201 W. College Parkway, Carson City.
