A Carson City holiday tradition returns for the final two weekends as families can climb aboard the beloved Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
This Christmas-time family favorite event aboard a historic railroad locomotive features visits with Santa Claus, candy canes, the opportunity to “Write a Letter to Santa,” hot beverages and more.
Trains run every 30 minutes from 10 am until 3 p.m. and continue this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15 and the final weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 21-22. Boarding time is 15 minutes before departure time.
Rides are $10 per person, children 2 and under sitting on a lap are free. Purchase tickets here.
Special Silver Bell Limited Ride
Join Nevada Railroad Museum for the Silver Bell Limited on Dec. 14 to support the Friends of Nevada State Railroad Museum.
This special 30-minute holiday-themed train ride is at 4:30 p.m. where passengers ride aboard the Julia car (V&T Coach-Caboose No. 8 ), pulled by V&T locomotive No. 25, with Santa and his elf distributing goodie bags containing a small plush toy, a candy cane, and a silver bell.
After the ride, enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and carolers with Santa in the depot. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children, with a limit of 28 participants.
