A Carson City couple was arrested Saturday for felony suspicion of drug trafficking and possession with intent to sell, among other charges after officers recovered 6.5 grams of methamphetamine following a traffic stop, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Serena Chantel Dillard and Robert James Dillard, both 43, were arrested at 3:37 p.m. in the area of Spear and Division streets. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after a registration check on the vehicle with plates that didn’t match. The deputy spoke with Robert Dillard who appeared extremely nervous.

He could not explain why the license plates were different or who the truck belonged to, the arrest report states. He did not have his driver’s license or identification in his possession and could not provide insurance or registration documents. Suspecting the vehicle was stolen, the couple was detained.

A drug-detection canine did an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive to the driver’s door. Deputies conducted a search. Inside the woman’s purse a deputy located a box disguised as a bible within a large cosmetic bag. Inside the container the officer located a glass pipe with meth residue, a clear plastic container and three plastic baggies. In all, 6.5 grams of methamphetamine was seized, the arrest report states.

Robert Dillard faces a felony charge of trafficking 4-14 grams, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, fictitious registration and driving without a seat belt. His bail was set at $26,326.

Serena Dillard faces a felony trafficking charge of 4 to 14 grams of meth, possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $26,137.

— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday 4:38 a.m. in the area of Stewart and Long streets for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and driving without headlamps on, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The woman was stopped for not having her headlights on. She showed signs of intoxication and agreed to standardized field sobriety tests. Her preliminary breath test was a .192 and she was arrested. At jail she blew evidentiary tests of .180 and .175. Bail: $1,224.

— A 39-year-old Moundhouse man was arrested Sunday, 12:48 a.m. in the area of Carson Street and Silver Oak for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane. According to the arrest report, a deputy initiated a traffic stop after the driver failed to maintain a lane on three separate occasions.

The man advised he had consumed two or three beers that evening. He agreed to submit to field sobriety tests and then did not want to do the tests, beginning to laugh and talk over the officer. He provided a preliminary breath test that showed he was above the limit. Bail: $1,224.

— A 36-year-old Reno man, Ramon Ortega, was arrested Sunday, 5:24 a.m in the area of Carson and William streets for suspected felony probation violation. The man was stopped for speeding going 38 mph in a 25 mph. Dispatch advised he was under supervision by state parole and probation. He provided a preliminary breath test with a .027, a violation of probation and he was arrested. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man, Kaymyn Roach, was arrested Sunday, 12:35 a.m. in the area of Fairview and Carson Street on a felony fugitive from justice warrant, a warrant for obstructing and resisting around and a warrant out of Reno for domestic battery. He’s being held without bail awaiting extradition to Reno.

A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:26 p.m. for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery and obstructing a peace officer. According to the arrest report, a couple got into an argument at an RV park in the 2400 block of North Carson Street.

The woman said the couple were drinking, that the man called her obscene, vulgar names and she was pushed. A witness stated he saw the woman being pushed. When he told the man to stop, he pushed the witness, the arrest report states. The suspect attempted to leave and was instructed to stop by an officer. He wouldn’t stop and was taken to the ground and arrested. Bail: $3,544.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 10;15 p.m. in the area of Windridge Drive and Peakwood Way for a misdemeanor parole and probation hold.
