Carson City Fire Department has been called to a brush fire near the Goni water tank area in the northeast side of Carson City.
Firefighters were called shortly before 2 p.m. for a report of a brush fire. Fire engines are responding, citizens and motorists should stay clear of the area.
Initial reports from a Carson City sheriff’s deputy arriving on scene is that the fire is approximately a 50 foot diameter circle. Southwest Gas, which was on the scene, had apparently extinguished some of it, according to the deputy.
The deputy said the fire is on the south side of the water tanks.
