Happy New Year everyone! Every month, the Park Rangers offer various Ranger-Led programs that include educational opportunities, historical fun and exciting adventures.

All programs are offered for free and take place in one of the many Carson City parks and open space areas. Online registration is often required so Park Rangers have a proper head count. All programs are subject to cancellation due to Park Ranger availability; registered participants will be notified. You can find more information about each program here.

Winter Wonderland Patrol
Join a Carson City Park Ranger on a foot patrol of the Carson River Trail system from Riverview Park. These unique Park Ranger adventures offer an experience similar to a Park Ranger’s daily patrols of the Carson City’s trails. Participants may be able to address safety concerns, vandalism, and anything else that comes up. You can also look forward to climate and snow discussions, in addition to flooding and more. The hike is considered “Easy” under the IMBA Trail Rating system. Expect flat terrain and possible snowy or icy sections along a 2-mile hike. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water. This program is weather dependent.
