Muscle Powered and the Carson Senators cycling team will host an Everest Challenge fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 26 on Kings Canyon Road. An Everest Challenge entails cycling up and down the same hill until you climb the height of Mount Everest, 29,032 ft.
Not all riders have a desire to bike Kings Canyon 53 times to achieve the full Everest height, so multiple ride options are available to those who want to have a more attainable goal for the day.
Riders will start as early as 3 a.m. at the intersection of Longview Way and Kings Canyon Road. Kings Canyon Road and the waterfall trailhead parking lot will be closed (beginning at Longview Way) to non-residents from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the event.
