“Early Autumn Jazz” is an evening of big-band music by the Mile High Jazz Band with resident vocalist Jakki Ford and guest vocalist Rick Esterling on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gina’s Good Life Music & Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street inside the Carson Nugget.
Gina’s is a smoke-free, climate-controlled venue, and has a well-stocked bar and specialty cocktails. The music is free; requested donation is $10.
The 17-member band will play old favorites and new swinging, big-band selections, including “Moten Swing,” “Moonlight in Vermont,” and “Dizzyland.” Rick Esterling will sing “L-O-V-E” and “Ain’t that a Kick in the Head,” and Jakki Ford will sing “Somebody Loves Me,” “Massachusetts,” and other great tunes with the band.
Mile High Jazz Band performances and educational activities are supported by memberships and donations, and by grants from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, from Carson City, and from the Music Performance Trust Fund.
