The National Weather Service in Reno has created a chart tracking the official storm total numbers from the storms hitting the region beginning Christmas Eve.
The final four-day (Dec. 24-27) storm totals are posted in this table. Notable snow amounts were generally 1 to 2 feet in the Lake Tahoe Basin and central Mono County, with 3 to 6 feet in higher Sierra elevations.
While Carson City didn’t have any snow accumulation and saw rain through the storm period, heading into the foothills above the capital city saw some snow, as well as 5 inches in Washoe Valley and 9 inches in Virginia City.
While the remainder of 2025 looks dry, the weather service advises that another round of storms could return during the first week of 2026. They note these storms will likely be less intense than the Christmas storms.
