UPDATE 4:31 p.m.: The suspect is cooperating and investigators remain at the scene, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong regarding the fatal shooting at 20 College Parkway. Interviews with the suspect have not concluded. It is believed that the altercation was “one-on-one” and the public is not in any danger.

Just before 3 p.m. Friday afternoon on Christmas Eve Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives were dispatched to a residence at the Parkway Plaza Apartments, located at 20 College Parkway in reference to a shooting with one male victim dead, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Careflight was ordered but canceled because the individual had died. One individual is in custody. The area of the incident is safe and cleared, according to Furlong.

“We are investigating the details of what has happened,” said Furlong.
