Members of the Carson City Host Lions Club decorated and delivered 21 miniature Christmas trees to the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation on Dec. 10. The Foundation will distribute the trees to children in the hospital’s pediatric ward as well as to the youth crisis center, helping bring warmth and holiday cheer to young patients and families during the season.

“The trees are beautifully decorated and sure to bring joy to our patients and their families,” said Tami Stein of the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation.

The project, known as Lily’s Trees, is named in honor of Lily Behrin, the young daughter and granddaughter of members of Lions clubs in Las Vegas. During her 63 days of life, Lily inspired those around her with the power of love, teamwork, and courage. In her memory, Lions Clubs in Las Vegas founded Lily’s Trees to remind families that no child will be forgotten and no family should lose hope.

In recent years, Lions Clubs across Nevada have embraced the project, delivering hundreds of Lily’s Trees to children and adults in hospitals, nursing homes, and other care facilities throughout the state. This year marks the first time the Carson City Host Lions Club has participated in the project.

“Our members are honored to be part of Lily’s Trees,” said Lion Terry Rubald for the Carson City Host Lions Club. “It’s a meaningful way to share compassion and hope with children and families in our community during the holidays.”

The Carson City Host Lions Club is proud to join fellow Lions across Nevada in continuing Lily’s legacy of service and kindness — one tree, and one smile, at a time.
