UPDATE: A small ceiling fan that caught fire inside a bathroom at Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Thursday afternoon has been extinguished, according to a Carson City Fire Department battalion chief.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded at 2:40 p.m. Thursday to the 200 block of Koontz Lane, Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation, for the structure fire. Multiple units responded. Patients were moved from one wing of the facility to the other. There were no injuries.

The fire emitted light smoke, which went into a room and was extinguished, said CCFD Battalion Chief Micah Horton.

At least five units responded and outside agency assist was called from East Fork Fire but was cleared from the scene. The fire was in the bathroom of the room and was contained, Horton said.

Fire department personnel evaluated facility clients and have cleared the scene.
