Santa and his elves and twinkling lights, hot chocolate and hot cider, Christmas cookies and candy canes, gift bags, and magical memories await passengers on the Virginia Truckee Railroad Holiday trains.
Departing from the historic 1870 depot in Virginia City, Nev., these festive trains create the perfect setting for family celebrations during the holiday season.

The Candy Cane Express
A cherished tradition for families, the Candy Cane Express opens its season the Friday after Thanksgiving and continues Saturday and Sunday afternoons through Dec. 21. Save an extra 15% for your family by using the Family15 coupon when you ride on Nov. 28 or 29.
This 50-minute round trip transports guests to Santa’s Christmas Workshop, where the holiday spirit comes alive with special treats, a reading of the beloved 1872 classic “T’was The Night Before Christmas,” Christmas carol sing-alongs, and a visit with Santa Claus himself. Seating is reserved in groups of two and four, and babies traveling on laps ride for free. For larger groups check out our Candy Cane Cabooses, a private car with seating for 20. Tickets and seating charts are available online at virginiatruckee.com. Free parking is provided for guests.
