Nevada Highway Patrol
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, at approximately 7:17 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a report of an injury crash involving two motorcycles on East Fir Avenue, east of Nectarine Street in Silver Springs.
Preliminary investigation shows that the rider of a gold 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound on East Fir Avenue directly behind a rider of a black 2002 Honda motorcycle. The rider of the Suzuki failed to use due care causing the front of the Suzuki to strike the rear of the Honda. Both motorcycles overturned and both riders were ejected from their motorcycles.
The rider of the Suzuki (Michael Lawson, a 41-year-old Carson City resident) succumbed to his injuries in the crash. Impairment is suspected for both riders.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) – Case #211002254.
