After nearly nine months of longer days, Daylight Savings Time gives way to Standard Time at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Clocks will need to be set back one hour, resulting in less daylight and shorter daytime hours. Days will continue to become shorter until the Winter Solstice on Dec. 21, the shortest day of the year.

Sunrise on Sunday, Nov. 4 in Carson City will be at about 6:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Sunset will occur at 4:55 p.m. Sunday.
