On August 30, 2026, at approximately 5:34 PM, the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to a pickup vs motorcycle crash at US50 and Drako Way in Carson City.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Ford pickup traveling westbound on US50 failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto Drako Way. A motorcycle was traveling eastbound US-50 in the right travel lane entering / crossing the intersection with Drako Way. A collision occurred and the right front of the pickup struck the front of the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Christopher Edward Wade, a 54-year-old male from Carson City, was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The driver of the Ford pickup, a female adult, was arrested for suspected impaired driving.
The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team.
