The Sierra Lutheran High School Girls Cross-Country Team finished second Saturday at The Northern Regional XC Meet in Reno and punched their ticket to State Championship Meet next Saturday at Rancho San Rafael Park.

All 5 Falcon girls are rookies in High School XC.  Sophomore Ava Zimmerman lead the way as an Individual medalist finishing 6th and covering the rolling 5000 meter course in 24:10.

Freshman Kailey Fitzpatrick was 10th in 24:31.  Freshman Christi Kennedy was 27th in 29:47 and Sophomore Sierra Carranza was 28th in 29:53.  Carranza was severely under the weather, but came through with a gritty performance to power the Falcons into the State Meet.

The Falcons will be at full strength next week as Freshman Riley McHenry will return to the line up and Carranza will be back in top form.  North Tahoe finished first Saturday with 10 points and will be the team to beat next week.  The Falcons edged out Coral Academy 53-56 who finished third and also qualified for State.

Wells was fourth and Silver Stage was fifth to round out the top 5 Double A Teams in the North. Laughlin, White Pine, and Needles will represent Southern Nevada at the State Championship Meet.
