Two Boy Scouts of Carson City’s Troop 16 received awards at the Bishop’s Rally for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, an annual event held by the Diocese of Reno. Clayton Sollberger, left, and Frederick Allen were honored at the ceremony held at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Reno on Sunday, October 18.
Sollberger received the Eagle Scout Rank Award, the pinnacle of Scouting. While it is not a religious award, it fulfills the 12th Point of Scout Law, being reverent. Allen achieved the Ad Altare Dei. This program is organized in chapters based on the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic church and is a primary means toward spiritual growth. Troop 16 is sponsored by Knights of Columbus of St. Teresa of Avila and Corpus Christi churches of Carson City.
