Rows of brand-new Ford vehicles gleamed in the north parking lot of Carson High School early Saturday morning, awaiting drivers eager to road-test them.

But the bi-annual “Drive 4UR School” fundraising event is not just a joy ride for automobile lovers, it’s also a benefit for the Carson Senators’ football program.

Members of the community turned out Saturday morning to help raise money for the Senators by test driving some of the hottest automobiles on the market.

Drivers were able get behind the new vehicle of their choice for a 7-10 minute test drive.

The Ford Motor Company donated $20 for each person age 18 and older who test-drove its new vehicles.

Capital Ford in Carson City allotted 300 test drives of vehicles in its inventory — including the F-150 and Super Duty pickups, the legendary Mustang muscle car, Focus, Fusion, and Escape — Saturday in an effort to raise $6,000 for the CHS football program.
