A couple was arrested Saturday for suspicion of child endangerment and drug offenses after they were found inside the home of an acquaintance who didn’t know they were there, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
During the investigation, drugs and paraphernalia were located within reach of their two children, with the couple admitting the children were nearby when drugs were used, according to the report. To protect the identity of the children, Carson Now is withholding the parent names.
According to the booking report, at 11:04 p.m. Friday deputies were called to the 2500 block of Oakridge Drive for a report of an unwanted subject. The reporting party (RP) advised he allowed the woman to watch the house while he was out of town. The RP stated he observed multiple subjects going in and out of his house through his Ring camera. He tried to contact the woman by phone but she hung up on him and would not answer the phone. He stated he wanted the woman and the other subjects to leave.
A deputy arrived on scene and knocked on the front door. The deputy waited for a short period of time and knocked again with no answer. While standing there, the bedroom window was lit up and the deputy saw shadows and could see two people coming out of a bathroom. Both subjects began moving around frantically in and out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom. The bathroom, which drugs and paraphernalia were later found, was connected to the bedroom. The deputy knocked on the window and finally the woman answered the door.
She provided the deputy her name and stated she was getting the kids ready for bed. The deputy informed her that the RP called and stated he observed multiple subjects coming into the house and he wanted her and the others to leave. She stated the children’s father and her two kids, 11 and 14, were inside.
The deputy informed the woman to call the RP and see what he wanted to do. The RP did not answer the phone. While speaking with the woman, she was moving her body erratically, could not stand still, swaying her hands around, fidgeting, constantly adjusting her sweater, sweating profusely from the forehead and had pick marks on her face. The observations were consistent with someone under the influence of narcotics, the report states.
While running the woman through dispatch, the deputy overhead the woman tell a deputy she is in recovery and has been sober for three years. The woman stated she had two shots of Fireball that night. Her behavior at the time was not consistent with someone who is sober. When a deputy asked the man if he was sober, he stated he has a medical condition and redirected the question and did not answer he was sober or not, the report states.
A deputy made contact with the RP who stated he had asked the woman to watch over the house while he was out of town. He advised there was talk of her moving in but rent was never paid. He said the woman was only allowed to check on the house and turn the irrigation system on. He stated he wanted everyone to leave and wanted the woman trespassed for a year, the report states.
The deputy informed the woman she needed to leave and that she can contact the RP to pick up the rest of her items at another time. The deputy explained the behaviors they observed led to concerns for drug use with kids in the house. The man replied with his medical concerns again, avoiding the question and denied he was using, the report states.
The deputy contacted the RP and asked him if they could do a walk through to make sure the kids in house were OK. He agreed and advised his bedroom is on the left side of the house and asked the deputy to make sure his door was locked.
Both children were walking around and appeared to be OK. During the investigation officers located burnt foil and other forms of paraphernalia common in narcotics use in the bathroom trash. Deputies determined this was now a child drug endangerment case, according to the report.
The couple was detained. The woman was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak. The deputy informed her what they located inside the bathroom trash can. The deputy informed her when they arrived they observed the two coming out of the bathroom. The woman denied any knowledge of drugs or using them, the report states.
A deputy spoke with the man who stated he owns a purple backpack and that’s where “everything” was. The deputy located the backpack on the bedroom floor. Inside there was multiple empty Kratom bottles with one bottle containing tablets, burnt pieces of foil, a black pen tube with white residue and a piece of foil with suspected meth. The man was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. A deputy asked him if he was using drugs in the bathroom. He stated yes. He stated he was using meth with the foil in the bathroom when the officer arrived.
The deputy spoke with the woman again and informed her they located meth and more foil in the backpack. She stated the backpack belonged to the man. She denied any knowledge or involvement. She stated she only used meth once a long time ago. She provided a preliminary breath test with a result of 0.00 but continued to say that she must have had too much to drink and that’s why her behavior was off. The deputy asked if she would consent to a blood draw to prove the officer wrong. She stated not right now. She then stated she used meth a couple days again. Initially she stated she had been sober for three years.
She was arrested and their children were picked up by their grandmother. Later, the woman confirmed the kids were in the same room where the narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located. She confirmed the kids were inside the bedroom when the man was using meth inside the bathroom. All items found were within an arm’s reach of both children. The parents were booked for two counts gross misdemeanor child endangerment and felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for suspicion of grand larceny of a motor vehicle, domestic battery and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. Following an investigation, CCSO deputies arrested Kenneth Edie. He was also booked for drug possession, paraphernalia and a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant.
According to the booking report, deputies were called Thursday evening to a West Clearview Drive address for a domestic battery. The victim notified dispatch the suspect had hit her in the head and then left the apartment.
Deputies interviewed the victim and could see a large bump that was shiny, red and appeared to be recent on the left side of her forehead. The report notes the swelling appeared to grow larger during the investigation.
She stated the injury was from the suspect hitting her after there was a verbal argument between the two, the report states. During the argument she stated the suspect hit her in the forehead but could not remember what he had hit her with. After being hit she said she punched him in the face around the left eye and then ran back into the bedroom and shut the door. She said the man punched the door and cut his hand and then took their dog and left the apartment.
Fire Department medic personnel arrived on scene to evaluated the victim.
Deputies interviewed a witness who said the didn’t witness the physical alteration but walked out into the hallway after hearing the argument. The witness said they saw the woman run into her bedroom and the man punching the door. At that point, she saw the man holding what appeared to be a small tire iron. When they walked out, the man grabbed the dog and left the apartment.
The deputy took photos of the woman’s injuries, which were booked into evidence. The report notes probable cause was established for Kenneth Edie’s arrest.
On Friday at approximately 8:30 p.m. deputies were called to help with other officers at a North Carson Street motel where it was learned the suspect was staying. Deputies made contact with him, in which he said that he had taken the vehicle the previous night after the domestic battery. He was searched where officers located a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe with burnt residue. The Department of Alternative Sentencing also advised the wanted a hold placed on him for contempt of court. No bail hold in lieu of hearing.
— A 57-year-old Carson City woman, Danelle Haas, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony burglary. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched at 4:29 p.m. to the 3500 block of Highway 50 East for a report that a woman was inside a storage locker that had been sold the day before and wasn’t supposed to be there.
A deputy arrived and made contact with the woman who advised she went into the storage locker to retrieve her items, which were valued at $1,100. She stated she had not talked to the original owner but needed to get her items for her daughter. The deputy contacted the person who purchased the storage unit and he advised the he wanted to press charges for entry into his storage unit. The woman was arrested.
— A 71-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Sept. 25 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was booked Friday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 26-year-old Reno woman was arrested Sept. 25 for suspicion of DUI, open container, operating a vehicle with expired registration and displaying a fictitious, canceled, revoked, suspended or altered vehicle license plate.
According to the booking report, a law enforcement officer made a traffic stop on I-580 for improper display of a rear license plate. The vehicle registration had been suspended since July 24, 2024 and had been expired since June 13, 2025.
An NHP trooper responded to the traffic stop and advised to a deputy they could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. He separated the driver from the vehicle. She told the officer she had taken a hit front her marijuana pen two hours prior and that the passenger was the one who had been drinking.
The officer asked if she was the driver. She stated yes. The deputy asked when the last time she had consumed alcohol, she stated yesterday she had a tequila shot. The deputy asked if she had taken any drugs or medication. She advised that two hours prior she smoked marijuana out of her pen and that she took antidepressants and mood stabilizers the day before, the report states.
The woman showed signs of impairment. She spoke slow in a lethargic manner, had dry mouth and bloodshot eyes. She performed standardized field sobriety tests and showed clues of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of 0.00. Based on the observations, she was suspected of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested. She consented to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,431.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for an active misdemeanor warrant for alleged DUI. Bail: $3,000.
— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation. Bail; $3,000 cash.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI second offense. According to the booking report, at 1:55 a.m. a deputy on Carson Street observed a vehicle with a rear driver side taillight out. The deputy initiated a traffic stop.
The deputy approached the driver side of the vehicle and immediately observed a light odor of alcohol coming from the open window. The driver had red watery eyes and slurred, slow speech. The deputy asked for his license, insurance and registration. The man was asked to step out of the vehicle to conduct the rest of the traffic stop.
The deputy asked if he had been drinking. The man stated he had been drinking earlier and that he had four beers. The deputy asked when his last drink was. He stated about 15 minutes before being pulled over. After an investigation and standardized field sobriety tests, he was arrested for suspicion of DUI second offense. The man agreed to evidentiary breath tests of .143 (first) and .137 (second). Bail: $2,500.
— A 31-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday for a warrant alleging four counts of contempt of court. Bail; $1,137.
– A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor battery and domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies responded at 10:57 a.m. to a Castle Way address for a report of a domestic battery and battery.
Deputies investigated and met with a female who said their friend had been hit and pulled by the hair by the suspect and that she was a victim as well. They described a vehicle the man fled in. Deputies went to the residence and knocked but there was no response. Because the victim was possibly injured inside the residence, officers saw the front door was unlocked and cleared the residence. Deputies believed the female victim was most likely with the man in the vehicle, the report states.
Deputies spoke with the RP (name redacted) and learned the couple were in a fight and that the victim called her to pick her up because the two were in a fight. She then stated she drove her vehicle toward the house and was filming the man. She said the man then reached through her open driver window and grabbed her throat and that he also took her phone from her. She said she witnessed the man drag the victim by the hair into the garage and close the garage and then saw the man leave in a commercial truck, according to the report.
Deputies located the suspect and victim near a fast food restaurant on North Carson. A deputy spoke with the victim, who was hesitant to tell her side of the story but then said the man had become upset with her, picked her up and threw her on the couch. She had a bruised and red finger that she said was from being thrown and that she smashed it when she landed, according to the report.
She said she did not remember the man pulling her hair or kicking her but did say the man grabbed her head to force her back into the house. The friend of the victim also advised she wished to pursue charges for battery. The man was taken into custody for domestic battery and simple battery. Bail: $4,274.
