By Denise Clodjeaux — Deputy Administrator of the Nevada Division of State Parks Jonathan Brunjes, will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The public is invited to attend the luncheon which takes place Tuesday, Sept. 23, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

Brunjes will discuss the numerous activities available to the public within the state’s park system. “You name it, our state parks have it,” he explains. “Our 27 state parks are vastly different from each other and each offer different recreational and historical attributes. Visitors can hike, camp, bike, swim, fish and rock climb. Pretty much anything you can think of.”

He will also talk about the state park’s reservation system, which was recently implemented at Sand Harbor. “This was done as a public safety measure along highway 28 to alleviate stand-still traffic in the mornings during the summer months. I imagine some people will have questions on how it works and how effective it has been thus far. I look forward to answering them.”

The Brewery Arts Center Grand Ballroom is located at 449 West King Street in Carson City. Anyone interested in attending and learning more about Nevada’s State Parks should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com.
