Carson City, Nev. (Sept. 19, 2025) — The Carson City School District is pleased to share a new student safety video featuring Carson City Sheriff’s School Resource Officers (SROs) and their four-legged partner, Kamper the K9. The lighthearted video highlights three key reminders for students, families and the community:

Tip #1 – See Something, Say Something

SROs encourage students to be aware of their surroundings. If they see something suspicious, they should notify a trusted adult, teacher, coach or bus driver rather than capturing it for social media. The core message: “See Something, Say Something.”

Tip #2 – Report, Don’t Repost

The officers remind students not to spread misinformation, rumors or harmful online content. If something concerning is found on social media, students should report it to law enforcement rather than reposting. The theme: “Report, Don’t Repost.”

Tip #3 – Drive Safe

Finally, the video emphasizes the importance of safe driving near schools. Drivers are asked to slow down, obey traffic signs and avoid using phones while behind the wheel. Additionally, they reminded drivers that U-turns and passing are prohibited in active Nevada school zones. The message: “Drive Safe. Slow Down. Don’t Text and Drive.”

The video closes with the officers and Kamper reminding students to be aware, report instead of reposting and drive safely.
