There will be a vigil Sunday, Sept. 14 at Carson City’s Mills Park in memory of Charlie Kirk, according to Carson Now reader Kahlena Harris. The vigil is at 7 p.m. in front of the Marv Teixeira Pavilion near the 9/11 memorial.
Those attending are encouraged to bring candles and flowers if they wish, as well as signs or other artwork.
Charlie Kirk was an American conservative political activist, author and media personality. He co-founded the student organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 and was its executive director. He was the chief executive officer of Turning Point Action (TPAction) and a member of the Council for National Policy (CNP).
Kirk was shot and killed Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 by an assassin while speaking at a TPUSA public debate event on the Utah Valley University campus. His death has gained international attention and led to the condemnation of political violence by prominent domestic and international figures.
