Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Wednesday evening to I-580 northbound near the Eastlake exit for a vehicle crash involving a semi.
The crash was reported at around 6:30 p.m. and involves a pickup that crashed into the back of a semi that caught fire. No serious injuries were reported. The fire was knocked down at 6:41 p.m.
Northbound I-580 traffic was halted. Motorists can expect delays.
UPDATE: The roadway was reopened at 8:20 p.m. One person was taken by ambulance to the hospital, according to NHP.
