Sylvester’s story tugs at the heart. He and his brother, Smokey, once lived a life of love and freedom in a home where they were cherished. But when their owner lost her housing, the boys found themselves living in a small kennel in her car or sometimes in her mother’s garage. It was no life for cats who had always known comfort and care. Out of love, their owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender them to Catmandu, hoping they would find the secure and happy homes they deserved. Smokey found his family quickly, but Sylvester has been waiting for more than two months now for his turn.
Here at Catmandu, Sylvester’s easygoing personality sometimes works against him. He is a laid-back boy who doesn’t push to the front of the line for attention or treats. When the more confident cats crowd in, Sylvester quietly retreats to a cozy cabin or perch and waits. But behind that reserved exterior is a sweetheart who shines when given a little one-on-one time. He adores gentle pets, brushing, and will happily keep you company while you work or relax.
Sylvester is a handsome, healthy 3-year-old that would do beautifully as an only cat, soaking up all the love he has missed, but he would also be fine sharing his home with another mild-mannered feline or even a cat-friendly dog. What he needs most is a safe, loving home where his gentle heart can truly blossom. He is already neutered and up to date on his shots. We ask visitors to arrive by 3 pm so there’s plenty of time to get to know this wonderful boy before adoptions close at 4. Don’t let Sylvester wait any longer.
