Just in time for Saturday afternoon’s monthly Wine Walk, sponsored by Carson City’s Downtown Business Association (DBA), Simone and Greg Bartell held a grand re-opening of their Touched By Angels home and garden shop at 205 E. John Street.

The Bartells moved into their new space on Sept. 1, vacating the small pink Victorian house they had occupied for four years at 108 E. John Street.

Greg Bartell said the new location is around 1,600 square-feet, providing for double the interior space of the old vintage cottage.

But one of the biggest selling points of the new property, he said, is its higher street visibility.

“The visibility from the street is much greater here,” Bartell said. “We have much larger front yard space for display.

There was little to no front yard space at the pink cottage, he said, and most outdoor displays were in the back yard where there was no street visibility.

The spacious interior provides ample room for product displays, Bartell said, and there’s even an additional 400 square feet of space in the back to accommodate for growth.

“Being able to grow and expand is very important to us,” he said.

Touched By Angels features the work of 30 local artists, Bartell said, in a number of mediums from metal sculpture to wood carvings, hand-made jewelry, and hand-knit stuffed animals.

The store’s inventory is as eclectic as it is diverse, and includes outdoor and indoor décor that satisfies every taste.

The Bartells have operated Touched By Angels retail shop for six years, including the first two of those spent in the Carson Mall before locating to the pink cottage on East John Street.
