The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department will adjust hours at the Rifle and Pistol Range (Range) on Saturdays due to a staffing shortage. Beginning on Saturday, Sept. 5, the Range will modify its hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. to noon.
This change to the operating hours will be in effect until the Department can hire sufficient staff for Saturdays.

Hours of Operation (effective Sept. 5, 2026):
Tuesday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to noon.
Sunday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Winter Hours (Nov. – Feb.)
Tuesday – Sunday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
During operating hours, the Range is monitored by Range Safety Officers (RSO), who are certified by the National Rifle Association (NRA). RSOs are available to provide assistance, answer questions on range guidelines, and ensure a safe facility for the public.

Passes for the Range may be purchased in person at the Carson Aquatic Facility, 841 N. Roop St., or at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC), 1860 Russell Way.
