A new home maintenance business has begun serving homeowners and property managers in Northern Nevada with bundled preventive maintenance services.

HomeSmiles Northern Nevada is operated by Stephen Jaenchen and his wife, Ruth. The couple previously founded Summit Cleaning Services, which they operated for more than 21 years before selling the business in 2024.

According to Jaenchen, HomeSmiles combines several routine maintenance tasks into scheduled service visits rather than requiring homeowners to arrange separate contractors for individual jobs.

Services include exterior window cleaning, gutter and downspout cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, pressure washing, HVAC filter replacement, water heater flushing and air conditioning condenser coil cleaning.

Other services include smoke and carbon monoxide detector inspections and battery replacement, dishwasher filter cleaning, sink P-trap cleaning, kitchen range hood filter cleaning, seasonal home maintenance inspections and maintenance reports.

“Most homeowners simply don’t have the time, equipment, or expertise to keep track of everything their home needs,” Jaenchen said.

For gutter cleaning, technicians use a high-reach vacuum system that allows some work to be performed from the ground rather than from a roof, according to Jaenchen. Exterior windows are cleaned with a water-fed pole system using purified water, which also allows some upper-story windows to be reached from ground level.

Jaenchen said the business is focused on routine maintenance intended to address potential problems before more extensive repairs are needed. Examples include removing debris from gutters, cleaning dryer vents and performing routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems.

“Our goal isn’t simply to clean something,” Jaenchen said. “It’s to help homeowners avoid problems, protect their investment, and enjoy greater peace of mind knowing their home is being professionally maintained throughout the year.”

The business also provides services for property managers and real estate professionals.
