With “flowers” as its theme, the Carson City Photo Club has announced the winners of its August photo competition.
Held every month, the competition brings out some of the best photography around the Carson City area. Scroll and click on each photo to enlarge. The winners are:

Second Place: “Daisy Dew Sunrise” by Rick Pott
Third Place: “Gem” by Laura Brower
Third Place: “Reflection” by Shellie McMasters
Winner’s Choice: “Blazing Star” by MaryLou Schindler
The Carson City Photo Club meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except December) at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, 911 East Musser Street, inside the Ormsby Room. Use the west entrance.
The theme for September is “Negative Space.” Become a member and submit your photo. All levels of photographers are welcome. Go here for more information.
