Kit Carson Toastmasters will hold a humorous speech contest amongst members on Tuesday September 7th. The event will be conducted at Grandma Hattie’s Restaurant, 2811 South Carson Street, Carson City, beginning at 6:30am. This is a free event and the public is welcome to attend. The winner will be chosen from Kit Carson Toastmasters members and will go on to the Area 22 contest in Carson City on September 18th. Fred Daniels will be the contest chair and Tim Mueller will be the chief judge. The winners of the Area 22 contest will then compete in the Division B contest in Reno October 2nd and those winners will then compete this November at the Fall Convention for District 39.
The three Carson City clubs are among more than 11,700 Toastmasters clubs around the world participating in speech contests this month. Toastmasters International is the world’s largest nonprofit educational organization devoted to communication and leadership development.
