On August 15, 2024, at approximately 2:07 PM, Lyon County Deputies responded to the Dollar General Store, located at 101 Ambrose Ln. in reference to a subject who attempted to place a credit card skimming device on the card reader in the store.

During the initial investigation, Deputies learned that two adult males entered the store. One of the subjects acted as a distraction, while the other attempted to place a possible card skimmer on the card reader.

The subject was unsuccessful in placing the skimmer on the card reader and left the store, followed by the other subject. Witnesses advised that one subject got into a White Jeep and left the area, and the other subject left the area on foot.
