A 37-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At approximately 9:17 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that began to show signs of impairment and had driven through a red light, the report states. The deputy made contact with the woman and asked for her license, registration and insurance. She attempted to give the deputy her wallet. Due to suspicion she was possibly under the influence, the deputy asked her to step out of the vehicle.
She was then asked multiple times if she would be willing to conduct standardized field sobriety tests. She evidentially agreed. When asked medical questions, she would not answer and acted confused, the report states.
She was informed a K9 had alerted to her vehicle and that it would be searched for drugs based on probable cause. As deputies searched the vehicle, the driver began to walk away. She was placed under arrest. Deputies located drug paraphernalia in her vehicle. The arresting deputy requested and was granted a warrant for a blood draw. Bail: $2,137.
