Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) plans to perform mosquito abatement treatments in the areas of Anderson/Buzzy Ranch, River View Park, Linear Ditch, and ponds East of I-580, the morning of Wednesday, July 23.

This will involve utilizing a helicopter for aerial treatments of standing water areas. These treatments are part of an ongoing effort to control the mosquito population and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

In addition to the aerial treatments, CCHHS recommends that residents take preventative measures to protect themselves from mosquito bites. This includes using a good quality insect repellent, eliminating standing water around your home, and ensuring that window and door screens are intact to keep mosquitoes out of homes.
