The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 Mine Operator and Contractor Safety Awards. These awards celebrate the Nevada mining operations and contractors that exemplify a strong, sustained commitment to workplace safety.
“Workplace Safety is more than a priority in Nevada mining, it is a core value that guides every shift at every operation,” said Amanda Hilton, NVMA President. “This year’s awardees continue to display that commitment to create and foster a culture where safety comes first. It is an honor to celebrate their work.”
The Operator and Contractor Safety Awards are determined using data from the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for the previous calendar year. Awards are given to the top-performing mine operators and contractors based on safety rates calculated through a formula that considers the number of employees on site, total hours worked in 2024, penalties for lost-time accidents, the number of reportable incidents, and lost-time days. Many recipients earned the impressive “triple zero” distinction: no reportable injuries, no lost-time incidents, and no days of restricted duty.
The Contractor Safety Awards specifically recognize third-party companies that work on mine sites and have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting their own employees and their industry partners.
This year, the NVMA is recognizing 26 mine operations and 3 contractors for their outstanding safety performance.
Recipients of both the Operator and Contractor Safety Awards, along with the 47 honorees of the Individual Safety Awards announced in June, will be recognized during a special reception at the NVMA’s 2025 Convention on Friday, September 5.
