A motorcycle crash on Highway 50 near Mound House late Thursday morning sent a Carson City man to the hospital via Care Flight, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
The crash happened at 11:45 a.m. near Dayton Hill around mile marker 4 east of Carson City, said NHP Trooper Barbara Stapleton. The motorcycle rider, David Reed, 44, of Carson City rear-ended a 1999 Subaru driven by a 59-year-old Dayton woman.
Reed was taken by Care Flight with non-life threatening injuries including severe road rash. He told NHP troopers that he was traveling at around 80 mph when he hit the Subaru. The Dayton woman in the Subaru was taken to the hospital by regular ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
This is the second crash in two days along Highway 50 near Dayton. On Wednesday, three Dayton residents died in a head-on crash near Six Mile Canyon Road.
