NDOT news release

As visitors flock to the Lake Tahoe Basin this summer, the Nevada Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to prepare for weekday lane closures as part of a continuing road improvement project to repave State Routes 431 and 28.
Through the coming three construction seasons, drivers will see continuing single lane closures on Mt. Rose Highway from the summit to Incline Village and on State Route 28 from Crystal Bay to near Sand Harbor State Park as NDOT repaves and improves nearly 15 miles of highway.
While lane closures will not take place over the Fourth of July holiday, drivers should anticipate the following when traveling State Routes 28 and 431 at Tahoe through the coming three construction seasons:
Single lane closures will take place Sundays at 8 p.m. through Fridays at noon on Mt. Rose Highway from the summit to the State Route 28 roundabout and on State Route 28 between Crystal Bay and Ponderosa Ranch Road in southern Incline Village (no lane closures between 8a.m. Friday, July 2 and Sunday, July 11 at 8p.m.)
Drivers can anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes with traffic flaggers and pilot cars alternating directions of traffic through the work zone. As summer traffic increases in the Tahoe basin, so do construction-related travel delays. During May, travel times through the construction zone averaged 7-10 minutes; work zone travel times now average 15-20 minutes as travel in the area increases.
