Hosted by Epic Rides, Carson City Off-Road races weren’t the only venues that kicked-off a jam-packed weekend in the state capital’s downtown on Saturday.

Several booths, food, and refreshments joined a pair of live performances to bring even more heat to a warm summer day in Carson City.

Hellbound Glory took the Main Stage on Carson Street during the Four Peaks Brewing Company’s Concert Series at 11 a.m. The American country and roots rock band kept the party rocking until Failure Machine took over at 12:30 p.m. at the McFadden Plaza, featuring a series of classics of late soul and R&B artists.

Along with live music, Four Peaks Brewing Company’s beer garden served dozens of cold brews on tap from 10 a.m. and will continue until 9 p.m. Several equipment booths and food trucks lined Carson St. for any interested participants.

As temperatures climbed, kids cooled off in the McFadden Plaza Splash Pad, screaming and running through the fountain.

“It’s a great way to enjoy the day outside,” attendee Randall Herschmann said. “From the beer to the food and music, everything is fun.”

Cheryl Bergman was one of the interested participants in the post-ride activities.

“I strolled down the street just looking at all the stuff they had to offer,” she said. “It really catches your eye to see some of the things here.”

The U.S.S. Nevada, a pirate ship on wheels built for Burning Man and now a fixture of the Nevada Day Parade, made their port beside the Main Stage on Musser for kids and adults to climb around on.

The excitement in downtown Carson City continues with Keller Williams and the Hillbenders performance at the Main Stage at 7 p.m. The After Party with Jordan T. as a part of the Levitt Amp Concert Series begins at 8:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center.
