Two were arrested Saturday following an investigation in which a cell phone was stolen and firearms were concealed without permits, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Damien Harrell, 18, of Dayton was arrested for suspicion of felony possession of stolen property and for gross misdemeanor carrying a concealed firearm without a permit. A second man, age 19, was booked for suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, a gross misdemeanor offense.

According to the booking report, deputies responded to a grand larceny call in which a firearm was reportedly brandished and a cell phone, valued at $1,500, was stolen. Officers detained the suspects, who were patted for weapons. A firearm was located, concealed in Harrell’s waistband, the report states.

Deputies learned the other suspect, the 19-year-old, had allegedly pulled a black handgun from his car and displayed it to a group of people before placing the firearm in the small of his back, the report states. Witnesses observed the man draw the firearm and conceal it on his person, the report states. None of the witnesses wanted to press charges for brandishing.

The 19-year-old consented to a search of his vehicle where deputies located an additional firearm matching the description of what had been described by witnesses.

The 19-year-old suspect stated the stolen cell phone was located in the front passenger seat of his car and that Harrell was the one who stole the phone. Bail for the 19-year-old: $2,500. Bail for Harrell, $12,500.

In other arrests:
— A 28-year-old Sparks woman, Mariah Elizabeth Denham, was arrested June 11 for suspicion possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor petit larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing.

According to the booking report, deputies were called to a sporting goods store for a reporting a woman who attempted to steal merchandise.

The woman left on foot near South Carson Street and was later located hiding near an apartment complex. She was read her Miranda warning in which she agreed to speak. She was asked if she was in the sporting good store and if she stole anything.

The woman said she was in the sporting good store but did not steal anything, stating that she took items outside the store before being contacted by employees and gave the property back when asked. She said she was standing outside and would re-enter the store and purchase the items. She gave deputies consent to search a bag she had on her, in which no stolen property was found, the report states.

Deputies contacted the sporting goods store and asked if they wanted to press charges. Store staff stated they did. She was arrested for petit larceny because she left the last point of sales and exited the store without purchasing the products she had on her.

In surveillance video the officer observed the woman and an unidentified man drive up to the store in a vehicle. The woman was the driver and the unidentified male was the passenger. The two entered the store. The woman grabbed several items from the shelves and held them in her arms and then exited the store and walked toward her car in the parking lot before being stopped by staff, the report states.

Deputies continued the investigation into the woman’s vehicle where they saw several items in original packaging, some still with price tags. Located in the vehicle were spoons with black and brown residue commonly associated with heroin, several needles, a torch commonly used to heat drugs to a liquid form, two scales, each containing trace amount of suspected methamphetamine. Bail amounted total listed: $4,401.

— Two men were arrested Friday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and other alleged offenses.

Joshua Wiedemann, 33, and Donald Ray McNeill, 53, were arrested following an investigation. McNeill was also booked for felony violation of bail conditions. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing for violation of bail conditions.

Wiedemann was also booked for suspicion of failure to stop at a stop sign and violation of a suspended sentence, both misdemeanor offenses. Bail: $3,612.

— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 10 for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Carson City. Bail: $5,000 cash only.

— A 25-year-old Sparks man was arrested June 11 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrants from Sparks Township Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 46-year-old woman was arrested June 11, 8:16 a.m. at a casino in the 500 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor probation violation. According to the booking report, the woman had been trespassed from the property, was on alternative sentencing with a condition to stay away from the property. The woman had entered the establishment. Bail: $3,000 cash.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man, Gregg Edward Devore, was arrested June 11 at a motel following a call by Carson City Fire Department for an unknown issue at a motel. Deputies made contact with the subjects inside the motel room. One was Devore, who had a felony fugitive from justice warrant for his arrest. Bail: $25,000.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 12 for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $2,000.

— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 12 for suspicion of parole and probation violations and misdemeanor domestic battery. No bail hold for the parole and probation violation.

— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 11 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued May 11, 2022. Bail: $3,000.

— A 41-year-old Carson City woman, Trisha Nicole Korman, was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a misdemeanor warrant issued Oct. 13 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,637.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 12 for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, driving on a suspended license, failure to obey a traffic control devision and violation of bail conditions.

According to the booking report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed running a stop sign at the intersection of North Fall and East Telegraph. As the officer attempted to stop the driver, he observed the vehicle’s right wheel hit a curb while attempting to come to stop.

Deputies spoke with the man and asked if he had consumed any alcohol. The man replied no. Deputies observed the man having red watery eyes and slurred speech. The man consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. The man refused to provide an evidentiary blood or breath sample. Bail amount total listed: $4,861.
