Now that the C-Hill flag has been restored to its former glory, a group of community members is looking to give the “C” a facelift to match. On Saturday, June 27, volunteers will move the rocks to restore the “C” in preparation for it to be repainted on Sunday, June 28. Volunteers will meet at the west end of Rhodes Street behind Greenhouse Garden Center at 7:30 a.m. on June 27 and carpool to the top. High clearance 4×4 vehicles are necessary for this drive. From the parking location, volunteers will walk 1/4 of a mile on a dirt trail to the “C.” The event is expected to last 3 hours.

This project requires lifting and carrying rocks. Volunteers will need to wear sturdy shoes, long-sleeve shirts and pants, gloves, hats, and sunscreen, and to bring water and snacks. Volunteers will need to sign a waiver, and anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian who can sign the waiver. The point of contact is Emma Doty, who can be reached at EmmaGDoty21@gmail.com.

Special thanks to Nolan Painting, Carson City Open Space, the C-Hill Flag Foundation, Sherwin-Williams, Silver Elite Painting, and Tru Coverage Painting for their help making this project happen.
