A 19 year-old Carson City man, Alejandro Rios-Geurrero was arrested Saturday at 5:12 p.m. in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of two felony counts of burglary.
An officer responded to a call from a victim of burglary. The victim’s PlayStation 3 and laptop were stolen from his home. The victim and a friend identified a suspect, Geurrero. The officer found and spoke to Geurrero. When asked about the stolen items, Geurrero started crying and admitted to taking the items from the victim’s home. He said he had taken the items to sell them to the people he owed money to. Geurrero said he pawned the PlayStation at Best Pawn for $50. Geurrero was arrested for burglary. Bail: $40,637.
The officer went to Best Pawn to confirm that the PlayStation had been pawned. The officer then went to speak to Geurrero. Geurrero said he took the laptop to a girl’s home and left it there. The officer then obtained a warrant to search the residence for the stolen property.
The officer entered the apartment and located the stolen laptop. The officer then spoke to Stephen Barns, who was already in handcuffs for other charges, about how he came to get the laptop. Barns said “some kid named Alex” sold him the laptop for $40. Barns said he thought the laptop was worth $700 to $1,000. Barns was arrested on felony for possession of stolen property. Bail: $5,000.
— A 22 year-old Carson City man, Stephen Barns was arrested Saturday at 8:16 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on felony possession of prescription drugs without a prescription.
A neighbor in an apartment complex informed an officer that a silver vehicle was parked outside the apartment building’s office and belonged to the apartment’s drug dealer. The vehicle belonged to Barns. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found an orange prescription pill bottle, Zolpidem without Barn’s name. Bail: $2,500.
— A 29 year-old Carson City woman, Rachael Wilhelmi, was arrested Saturday at 8:05 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for felony possession of controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and violation of suspended sentence.
The apartment of Wilhelmi was being searched for stolen property. An officer found a silver purse on the floor that belonged to the subject. Wilhelmi allowed the officer to search the purse. The officer found a small bag of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine and an empty pen barrel with a thumb tack pushed through it, believed to be a device used to smoke heroin.
Wilhelmi was arrested for possession on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of suspended sentence. Bail: $4,637.
— A 22-year-old Gardnerville woman, Ashley Karow, was arrested on Saturday at 8:35 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for felony failure to appear drug court and misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence and possession of paraphernalia.
Ashley Karow resided in the apartment that was being searched for stolen property, according to the arrest report. An officer asked if they could search her bag, she agreed. The officer found an Advil container with a small bag with a trace of white crystalline substance in it. Karow was checked for wants and warrants and revealed a felony warrant for failure to appear in drug court from Douglas County. Bail: No bail for failure to appear in drug court, $2,137.
In other arrests: A 47 year-old Mound House man, John Aragon, was arrested Saturday at 12:40 a.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street on felony battery by prisoner.
An officer was assigned to the rove position at the Carson City Jail and was called to the control area because an inmate had been battered by another inmate. Argon said he and the victim had gotten into a fight in the kitchen and he had shoved the victim leaving him with a bloody lip. After reviewing the tape, the officer determined Aragon had been the primary aggressor. Bail: $20,000.
— A 19 year-old Carson City woman, Christine Rael, was arrested Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street on felony failure to appear sentencing. Bail: $10,000
— A 49 year-old Carson City woman, Kimberly Butler, was arrested Saturday at 6:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of Market Street on misdemeanor violation of bail conditions and felony burglary. An officer responded to a call for a female in custody for shoplifting. Butler had taken a package of meat and exited the store, said the loss prevention officer who caught her. The officer ran Butler for wants and warrants and she came back on alternative sentencing. She was arrested for violation of bail conditions. Bail: $5,500.
— A 44 year-old Reno woman, Shannon Rambeau, was arrested Saturday at 9:00 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Carson Street on two misdemeanor failure to appear charges and felony possession of controlled substance.
An officer responded to a suspicious subject call from a security manager. Upon arrival the officer was led to a green Durango and the security manager said they had seen on a camera several people approaching the vehicle then quickly leaving the area. When the vehicle was approached, the officer saw two cans of beer in the front seat, Rambeau asked to pour out the beer and after the officer collected the subject’s information she allowed Rambeau to pour out the beer.
The security manager then told the officer he had witnessed on the camera Rambeau stash something in the rocks while she was pouring out the beer. The officer then inspected the area and found a bag of a crystal substance. The officer then spoke to Rambeau about what they witnessed on the camera. She said she did not know anything about the drugs and was not dealing them. Bail: $2,504.
— A Carson City man, Juan Garcia, was arrested Saturday at 9:29 p.m. in the 800 block of East William Street for felony possession of controlled substance and misdemeanor of violation of bail conditions.
An officer was patrolling the area when he saw Garcia walking his bicycle. The officer spoke to Garcia and noticed his red watery eyes and the smell of an alcoholic beverage. Garcia was run through a local record and warrant check and returned alternative sentencing restricted from drugs and alcohol.
Garcia was placed under arrest. The officer also found a prescription bottle with the label scratched off of it. Bail: $5,500.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:17 p.m. in the 3000 block of Market Street on misdemeanor petit larceny, warrant arrest for criminal contempt, warrant arrest for violation of TPO and warrant arrest for contempt. An officer was sent to the location for a petit larceny call. The man was caught shoplifting by a Walmart loss prevention officer. The man was also confirmed for three outstanding warrants. Bail: $3,992.
A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on Saturday at 8:52 p.m. in the 500 block of East Long Street on misdemeanor trespassing. The man was attempting to climb through a window in an apartment building. Bail: $242.
— A 31-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday at 8:11 p.m. in the 900 block of Musser Street on misdemeanor contempt of court. An officer was dispatched to the location in reference to a warrant service. The subject was responding to the sheriff’s office for a child custody exchange. After the man’s child left, he was arrested. Bail: $586.
— A 46-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday at 2:57 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Nevada Street on misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct.
An officer responded to a neighbor dispute call and discovered the woman yelling and screaming obscenities. She said she was beaten by a man she had just met, but refused to show her injuries or go to the hospital. The woman was sweating a lot and complained that she needed a drink of water; the officer suspected she might be under some type of illegal drug. She refused to stop yelling, so she was arrested for disorderly conduct.
